So Much For the Candy Dish…

Circumstances have caused me to be in and out of a number of “corporate type” offices lately, something I haven’t needed to do in a while.

Not so long ago, in my previous incarnation as “le businessman”, I was in and out of such places a lot.

Even as soon as I walked through those big, expensive doors (you know the kind), I was fascinated to take note of a few small but significant changes:

The receptionist who used to greet you with a smile is gone now – replaced by one of those little bells you bang on to get service in hotels and such; and that candy dish on his or her desk is now a bottle of hand sanitizer.

Seems like it’s hazardous to touch each other. Is there something wrong with this picture? Are the humans making progress? What’s up next? Surgical masks?

Stay tuned…and in the meanwhile….

Be kind to yourself,

Metta.
