A Cherokee Parable
An old Cherokee is telling his granddaughter about the ongoing battle within himself. He described it as being between two wolves.
The first – hatred, fear, jealousy, greed, hubris, self-pity, false speech, judgment and arrogance.
The second – love, peace of mind, tolerance, humility, human- heartedness, generosity, honesty and compassion.
His granddaughter thought about this…then asked her grandfather, “Which wolf wins?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, ” Whichever one I choose to feed.”
